I don't know anything about the background of this character, so I'm reviewing it fresh off the boat, so to speak.
The first think I noticed about this picture, when I saw the thumbnail, (impelling me to enlarge it), was the colour scheme. I love the use of crimson with vibrant turquoise and all integrated beautifully with the soft greys, not an easy task!
I like that the wolves are shown slightly less distinctly than the central figure, bringing him into sharper focus, and yet they maintain their own prominence in their own right.
The picture is filled with gorgeous rhythms of line and form, creating a kind of magical glyph in front of the eyes.
I don't know if it was intended for the left nipple to be slightly star shaped but I love this detail.
My favourite aspect of the painting is the fact that the artist has managed to depict a long haired youth, with delicate features, who exudes palpable masculinity. Even if he was wearing a shirt, I still wouldn't have been in any doubt, and I know painfully well, how hard this is to achieve.
